Gillette Venus Embrace Sensitive

So I received another gem to review from one my favorite companies ever! I absolutely LOVE Influenster and if you have no idea what they are all about then be sure to go to www.influenster.com to learn more about what they do. It's an invitation only site but I have a few invites left! So let me know if you're interested in joining! This month I received the Gillette Venus Embrace for sensitive skin.

This package came with two heads, both with 5 blades each surrounded by thick lotion strips and a rubber comfort strip. The razor's handle is very comfortable to use and handle, I never feel like I'm losing control of the razor. It has a very firm grip and it's never slippery even when submerged in water. This razor overall performs well, it gives a very close shave that is extremely soft and practically cut-proof. It doesn't matter whether you shave fast or slow, this razor does a great job protecting your skin and you never have to worry about those annoying tiny nicks that just seem to bleed forever and sting. My beef with this razor is that it claims to be for sensitive skin but I still noticed irritation after using. Shaving my leg below the knee was a breeze and super easy and quick but when I started shaving above my knee around my thighs, I noticed that the razor didn't feel as soft. Maybe because my skin isn't as firm as the tight skin on the bottom half of my leg, I'm not sure. I don't have cellulite or too much extra baggage on my thighs, but that's the only thing I can think of, is that my skin is more loose around my thighs so the razor doesn't perform as well there, which is strange and something I've never had a problem with with any razor I've ever used. So I had irritation on the front and back of my thighs after use that lasted the entire day but faded overnight. Not a huge deal breaker, but definitely something to consider if you're someone who is prone to irritation bumps.
My final verdict is that this razor is just ok, I wouldn't personally purchase it because I do believe that their Venus Embrace with Olay razor is the BEST Venus Embrace razor. The lotion strips on that razor are twice as thick and it literally feels like you're shaving with a bar of soap. If you're going to dish out over 10$ for a razor, get the Venus Embrace with Olay, it will change your life. That razor produces NO irritation whatsoever and it is impossible to cut yourself with it. So the Venus Embrace for Sensitive skin is good and I will still use it until it completely dulls out on me, but it didn't wow me like the Venus Embrace with Olay did.

Olay Fresh Effects Cleanser!

Now I've got to start out by saying that I'm not someone who cleanses their face often. I have very normal skin but too much exfoliation can make my skin peel on my face and give me extremely dry areas. So I wash my face maybe three times a week with St. Ives Apricot Scrub (a classic), this keeps my face soft and clean. So I wasn't too overly excited about trying this because I don't really need it, but I gave it a whirl anyways. Overall I didn't like the experience, the brush in the cleanser set is made of very hard, rubber, thick bristles, and the vibrations were a little too rough.

They were uncomfortable for someone like me, who's not used to so much facial cleansing abuse, to use. My face was very pale and flushed after using. I'm not sure why, but I know that's never happened to me before. The soap that comes with the brush is ok, it smells good and actually is a chrome/silver color, which is interesting. I actually didn't mind it and will probably end up using the entire tube but without the cleaning tool brush. I feel like this would be good for someone with severe acne or aging because I could see how it would really massage and get into your pores, but personally it's just not really something I'd have use for.

Not Your Mother's

So in my Feb Voxbox I received a plethora of items complimentary of Influenster to test and boy was it fun! I got to try Not Your Mother's Beach Babe texturizing spray (http://bit.ly/14G5TDQ) and it was seriously freaking awesome. It gives you pretty stunning salty beachy waves that look like they came straight from the ocean. Perfect for wavy hair like mine that can be hard to control at times. Just beautiful.

Baby Phat Goddess perfume review

First I would like to say that this is definitely among the top three most beautiful perfume bottles I own. It is so modern yet so classic at the same time, it is so sexy but in a modest way. The pink liquid really accentuates the rhinestones along the ring at the neck of the bottle, and vice versa. The rhinestone ring you see by the way is an actual ring that snaps on and off that you can take off the bottle and wear. It is most definitely glamorous and I keep this one in front of all the others on display in my collection.

Now for the smell, this perfume is definitely a floral scent. Just by removing the cap and smelling it in the bottle I get a very intense wave of rose with hints of gardenia, lilac, lily, and blossoms all wrapped up in a lightly sweetened white musk. It smells this way once sprayed and eventually overtime settles to a little lighter scent than when first sprayed but overall doesn't change much. I'd say it has hints of pepper too but I'm not sure exactly if it's in the top or middle note considering it's not a very strong pepper and it would be more of a sweet pepper if it did exist here. I also see online many people describe this perfume as woodsy but I don't agree with that because it's more of a powdery scent, it's too overwhelming to be woodsy. But this is definitely a woman's scent, it's very feminine and smells very familiar, it reminds me a lot of the women's perfumes released in the late nineties, it reminds me of perfumes like Charlie White or Belara. That being said, this perfume is also one of the strongest one's I own, it can be an offensive perfume if you wear too much. It's one of those perfumes that you save for date night, and just two sprays will last all night. I find that this perfume will last around four hours on my skin, but it will last in my clothes until I wash them. The sillage is very strong too, it's something that stays in a room for a while after sprayed and it makes me feel like people can definitely smell me before they see me in public. In conclusion I would sum this perfume up in one sentence by saying that it's a beautiful, feminine, floral fragrance that makes a pretty big statement and should be worn in moderation to allow the perfume to be more gentle...
